Taking individual (private) lessons is one of the most personal, immersive and effective methods to learn a foreign language. Instruction is designed according to your speed and interest, and you have the teacher's full attention. Lessons are adapted to your requirements, interests, and previous experience in with the Dutch language. They can be used for anything from preparing for an interview, a presentation of business ideas at work, or simply learning useful phrases and vocabulary.
The course schedule is flexible and scheduled to meet your needs. Individual courses can be arranged for a single participant or if you prefer, for small groups of up to three participants.
1 participant
Your needs and objectives are first analysed and then used to create a personalised program for you adapted to your requirements and schedule. The program is offered at all levels, from beginner to advanced. The course may also be conducted with specified content and vocabulary that one wishes to learn, such as literature, business or other subjects. In most cases, a placement test is first conducted to see whar your current level and knowledge of the Dutch language is. The participant is allowed to first purchase one session separately to try out the teaching style. After this first session a purchase of minimum 5 lesson hours for a certain period is required (for example 5 lesson hours within 2 months or 10 lesson hours within 3 months).
2 - 3 participants
This course is ideal for friends or a family who wish to study Dutch together. In this small, intensive group the course is adapted to the individual requirements of the participants. The course concentrates on your interests and is taught at a speed suitable for your group. All participants need to be at the same language level, proof of current Dutch proficiency in the form of past Dutch course certificates or results or a placement test is required. The participants are allowed to first purchase one session separately to try out the teaching style. After this first session a purchase of minimum 10 lesson hours for a certain period is required (for example 10 lesson hours within 3 months or 20 lesson hours within 6 months).
Classroom-based courses
We offer classroom individual lessons at our Dutch school premises in Utrecht. You will have face-to-face contact with our qualified Dutch teachers who will coach you through the material of your choice. Our recommended material we use for all our classroom-based lessons is Contact! Nieuw (1, 2 and 3 for A1, A2 and B1 levels respectively) and Contact! (3, for the B2 level) books by Intertaal. You may use other methods for your lessons in accordance with the teacher's and your preferences.

Online courses in virtual classroom
We also offer individual lessons online, with lessons held in a virtual classroom via Zoom. Books are not mandatory, as you can choose to make use of our E-learning methods instead. You can sign up for online individual lessons by purchasing lesson packages using the link below. Please choose the package you want to buy and package discounts will apply automatically.
Prices per lesson hour (50 minutes) from 1 November 2016:

For individual lessons, we use lesson hours of 50 minutes. The first lesson hour can be bought separately to try out the teaching style and see if the participant wants to continue. After the first lesson, individual lessons can be purchased in packages per 5 lessons.
Discounts are offered per package as follows:
- For 10 or more lessons, a 5% discount on the course fee is applied.
- For 20 or more lessons, a 10% discount on the course fee is applied.
- For 30 or more lessons, a 15% discount on the course fee is applied.
